How to spend a weekend in London…
Whether you are first timer or have visited previously here are a few wonderful things to see and do during a weekend in London.
Grab a bite at the Borough Market:
Depending on whether you are an early riser or kick things off at midday this market will have your food cravings covered. From great tea/coffee to the ultimate grilled cheese, yummy fruits and some mouth watering sweets you won’t leave hungry. Get the complete lowdown over at my London Market Guide.
Stroll along the Thames:
A riverside walk post market food coma (worth it) will be in order. Along the way a visit to the Tate Modern is an absolute must before you find yourself face to face with Big Benny boy. An art gallery with a wonderful selection of modern art, which is on par to the MOMA in my books.
Wander through Westminster:
Complete with all the delightful London cliches. Cue red phones boxes, double decker buses and black taxis. Not to mention a bunch of great pubs, which are a wonderful place to relax, people watch and recharge over a pint. Or two.
Explore the Columbia Road Flower Market:
A sight for weary Sunday morning eyes complete with stall after stall of gorgeous blooms. Get your full floral overload here. The cute shops (classic lolly shop, print stores, homewares etc.) along Columbia Road are also worth perusing after your floral fix. Afterwards stroll on over to the Bricklane Market for some great lunch options and vintage wares.
A visit to Liberty London will be well worth it with level upon level of dreamy pieces, topped off with a florist outside that will brighten up even the dreariest weather London may throw your way. While you’re in the area stop into Carnaby Street for some cute architecture and quintessential London labels.
