Striped Sundays - Horizontal meets Vertical

With the temperamental weather of late both sun shielding shades and cosy knit jumpers have been necessary. 

In between downpours I took advantage of the intermittent sunshine in this stripe on stripe ensemble. When it comes to combining stripes I find the greater the contrast the better. One easy way to achieve this is to combine horizontal and vertical striped pieces.   

Now to show the method in my madness...

The wide horizontal stripes and knitted texture of the cropped jumper offset the narrow vertical stripes on the floaty skirt. I opted to tie it all together with my new favourite metallic flats. 

If my pinning habits over the weekend became a reality these uber cool striped shades would definitely be joining the party.
