Striped Sundays 5 - Outfit

Photos by Max Rowan

It seems fitting to celebrate the kick off of the Olympics with golden hued stripes and relaxed preppy vibes.

Given my recent Summer cravings, I was thrilled to take advantage of the Sunday sun with bare legs and comfy kicks. It is becoming clear that my love for this pair of sneaker wedge perfection is unlikely to fade anytime soon.

I hope the weekend has treated you well!

Summer Dreams

Whilst I enjoy hot cups of tea and cosy knits as much as the next person, Summer is calling me.

This simple chic denim and printed silk ensemble is screaming for some glorious European sun and sand. All I need now is these fun citrus hued sandals to complete my dream European Summer outfit.

The key word of that last sentence would be dream. At least I am fantasising about a European Summer getaway in the comfort of my favourite T by Alexander Wang knit.

What is your dream Summer outfit?

The Wall

Photos by Max Rowan

Have you ever had one of those days where you feel like you have hit a wardrobe inspiration wall? That feeling of indecisiveness, despite the numerous outfit options in your wardrobe and/or on your floordrobe.

I experienced such a wall last weekend. In such instances go to pieces such, as a staple denim shirt and classic cut trousers are a no brainer.

This staple piece state of mind resulted in some organic accessory choices, in the form of my all time favourite shades and a bracelet that has been a regular fixture on my arm of late.

What do you do when faced with a wardrobe inspiration wall?

Reflector

Photos by Max Rowan

Versatility is one quality I look for in any piece and this monochrome shirt is no exception. The Winter hiatus in Sydney has allowed for this previously preppy personified number to let off some steam, with a relaxed collar and rolled up sleeves.

This piece paired with some staple denim and 'walking on clouds' kicks, called for chilled weekend vibes and reflecting upon the little things in life.

Striped Sundays 3 - Wardrobe essential

It is that magical time of week again for some much needed stripes adoration. Considering Bastille Day has just rolled by it seems fitting to celebrate the epitome of French chic, with a post dedicated to the classic striped top.

Whilst I admit having some stripes bias, the necessity of this wardrobe essential cannot be denied. This incredibly versatile piece can be incorporated into any wardrobe regardless of gender, age or budget.

I opted to style my go to striped top with some second skin jeans and my favourite red lipstick for some serious daytime chic vibes. Add some metal toe capped foot candy and a killer leather jacket into the mix and you are ready to party through the night.

How would you style this striped wardrobe essential?

Now if for some crazy reason you have not yet experienced the brilliance that is a striped top or you want to add to your collection, here is some shopping inspiration.

Blue Moon

MAC Semi-mat lipstick (Naked Bliss)
Swarovski ring (part of a set)

After receiving such lovely feedback from my previous post, I really appreciate both your enjoyment of Striped Sundays so far and mutual adoration for this pair of striped boot candy.

Also I really took on board that a few of you would like to see how I would style those striped bad boys, so here it is!

Being a firm believer in incorporating new pieces with your existing wardrobe, I opted for this combination of staple pieces.

Lately those jeans have been a second skin so it felt essential to start the outfit with them. With a few dashes of blue in the form of some cosy cable knit perfection, tech love hearts and shiny finger candy and voila, you're ready for some striped boot love.

What do you guys think about my outfit choice? I would love to hear how you would style my latest striped obsession.

Striped Sundays 2 - Wish list

(Image via Shopbop, text by Dark Blue Stripes)

Well after some technical difficulty last night I bring to you my latest Striped Sundays post. Better late than never right?! Well lets just say I'm half late as it is still Sunday for my American readers.

I wanted to share with you this pair of striped foot candy that has been on my mind all week. These Rag & Bone booties are the perfect combination of two classic staples- ankle boots and stripes.

Now I just need to find a way to make these bad boys the latest striped addition to my wardrobe.

In other exciting news, it is time to announce the Riders by Lee jeans giveaway winners!

Congratulations Vallon Evans and Maybel Huang!

Poor boy

Photos by Max Rowan

I wore this outfit last Sunday to a Batman movie marathon.

The outfit revolved around my trusty poor boy hat, which I picked up during my first overseas trip to New York. This piece holds great sentimental value due to all the travel memories made whilst wearing it.

Are you a hat fan? How would you style this poor boy number?

On a non-fashion related note, is anyone else as excited as I am to watch The Dark Knight Rises?! The suspense is killing me.

Happy Fourth of July American bloglovers!

Whilst this holiday is not celebrated here in Australia, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favourite things of the red, blue and white variety.

My fondness for this colour combination is no secret through my previous outfit choices and love of pop art

I hope you are all having a lovely week!

In my bag

A few of you have asked about what I carry around day-to-day so I decided to jump on the 'In my bag' bandwagon.

In no particular order, this is what I store in my precious See by Chloe 'Poya' bag. That is everything besides my camera for obvious reasons.

Keys- To avoid embarrassment and likely scaling of my apartment building to break and enter.
Notebook and pens- I am obsessed with cute, colourful stationary to jot down my thoughts and inspirations throughout the day.
iPad + Marc by Marc Jacobs iPad case- My iPad is incredibly useful for blogging on the go.
Business cards + Miu Miu business card holder- I always have my business cards on hand for when I meet lovely new people.
See by Chloe wallet- After missing out on my sold out 'Poya' bag I opted for the wallet alternative. Luckily the bag went back in stock, resulting in my See by Chloe family.
MAC 'Ruby Woo' lipstick- The perfect shade of red for my fair complexion.
Smith's lip balm- I love the minted rose scent.
Karen Walker 'Perfect Day' sunglasses- My go to shades that can be styled with any outfit.

What are your daily essentials when out and about?

Striped Sundays 1

Photos by Max Rowan

I present to you a new feature on the blog- Striped Sundays!

Striped Sundays will celebrate all things stripe related, starting from today. This weekly addition will feature a spectrum of stripes adoration from personal style posts, to inspirational posts and 'how to' styling guides. The possibilities to showcase the brilliance that is stripes are endless!

For the first post I thought I would share one of the ways I like to wear stripes. I love pairing stripes with other prints and this print safari ensemble is no exception. The classic, crisp dark blue stripes on the top celebrate the amazing mountainscape printed shorts without overpowering them.

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend. I look forward to sharing my love of stripes with you each Sunday.
