It was only a matter of time before my love of stripes reached places other than my wardrobe. Those of you following me on Instagram may have noticed a striped nail sneak peek from prior chocolate tuxedo covered strawberry adventures. Yes they taste as good as they sound and/or look!
Follow these simple steps to achieve fun striped nails.
YOU WILL NEED:
- Basecoat
- White nail polish
- Blue nail polish
- Topcoat
- Tape
- Scissors
STEP ONE:
Prepare strips of tape.
Note: You will need three strips per nail. My strips were approximately a quarter of a centimetre wide.
STEP TWO:
Apply base coat to nails and let it dry.
Note: I used ORLY Bonder.
STEP THREE:
Apply two coats of white nail polish to nails and let it dry.
Note: I used ZOYA 'Snow White'.
STEP FOUR:
Apply three strips of tape to each nail with approximately equal spacing.
Note: This will achieve two stripes per nail. Apply extra strips of tape for additional stripes as per your nail length.
STEP FIVE:
Apply blue nail polish between strips of tape onto nails and let it dry.
Note: I used NAILS INC 'Baker Street'.
STEP SIX:
Remove strips of tape from nails once blue nail polish has dried.
STEP SEVEN:
Apply top coat to nails and let it dry.
Note: I used O.P.I 'Top Coat'.
This striped manicure was relatively straight forward and a lot of fun to do. It would also look great with a variety of other colour combinations. I highly recommend trying it out!
