Dotty

Photos by Max Rowan

I decided to wear pieces sporting my second favourite print last Sunday. Polka dots are such a fun print to wear this upcoming summer (one day to go but who is counting?) due to the great energy and playfulness it adds to an outfit. From skirts to ankle socks to bikinis this classic print can be used for an array of pieces.

Sunday was very much a day of eating. After attending a belated Thanksgiving dinner that night the holiday season has truly begun! I am very much looking forward to all of the upcoming parties this holiday season.

Now I must be off to feed my online shopping addiction, as it is currently the Vogue Online Shopping Night here in Australia. To my local readers out there feel free to share any great online shopping deals you have come across this evening.

Stripes and sunshine

Photos by Max Rowan

The weather in Sydney today was bizarre to say the least. I woke up to dark, cloudy skies and the sound of rain that had not ceased since it started a few days earlier. I decided I was going to protest the apparent 'spring/summer hiatus' by wearing colour and it seems to have paid off as later in the afternoon the weather completely shifted to clear, bright skies and warm temperatures. Now I just need to test out this little trick when caught out in the rain without an umbrella (almost always).

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and the sales! Pick up any great bargains?

New arrivals: Essentials

After weeks of searching I have finally found the perfect wallet in this lovely See by Chloé number. I love the great details such as the adorable scalloped trim and gold zipper that make this everyday wallet quite stylish.

My iPad that was a recent birthday gift from my boyfriend also needed a little something. That something turned out to be this great Marc by Marc Jacobs iPad case. The case is quite durable with the nylon cover and faux fur lining and has all the great signature details of a Marc by Marc Jacobs product that you would expect. Now my iPad will survive the dangers of my handbag.

Fly away

Photos by Max Rowan

Sheer and flowy pieces were chosen in order to survive the Sydney heat and humidity on Saturday. This outfit was styled around the skirt due to its great green colour and interesting print. I opted for pieces that were neutral, light and flowy to complement the flying bird print on the skirt.  My trusty tan suede ankle boots provided just the right amount of height without being impractical to walk around the shops in.

Speaking of shopping I had been looking for a new wallet for a while and finally found the perfect one yesterday. Keep an eye out on the blog for a new arrival post soon.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Lemon meringue

Photos by Max Rowan

I braved the Sydney heat in this outfit last Sunday. Having the afternoon wind blowing through my hair and mustard button up top luckily saved me from most definite melting on the Newtown pavement.

My apparent preference for wearing the colour yellow of late as seen here and here shows how my outfits seem to be becoming more and more influenced by the weather. I paired this flowy, curved back top with my favourite cream lace shorts, which now that I am looking at the shots seems to have achieved a somewhat lemon meringue effect. Now I am craving lemon meringue pie. Yum.

On that note I hope you are all enjoying your week.

Black hexagon and dots

Photos by Max Rowan

I have been looking for a statement ring for a while and was understandably excited to receive this fantastic Carly Paiker Black Hexagon ring thanks to a giveaway on the lovely Margaret's blog Shine By Three. I love the hexagon shape and being able to carry a bit of "Love" or "Hope" around with me every time I wear it.

What better to wear with this amazing ring than my favourite polka dot ankle grazers and lovely t-bar mary janes. I love wearing these super cute shoes and cannot believe that they have not appeared on the blog until now. At least now they are getting the love they deserve.

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend!

Betty blue

Photos by Max Rowan

I introduce to you Betty Blue, an amazing addition to my dress collection and exactly what I have been looking for this spring/summer.  I adore the amazing blue colour, interesting print and best of all the dresses vintage character!

This dress that was masterfully sourced by the lovely Claire from Stolen from Grandma has such a relaxed yet casual chic feel. I can easily see myself in this dress out to lunch one minute and at the beach the next. If you are not yet aware of Claire and her lovely online clothing store make sure to check it out here

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! The weather has been crazy here in Sydney. Hot and humid one minute and stormy the next. I must admit though that the post heat rain was very much welcomed during my walk home post gym session this afternoon.
